Tony:

I don't see any functionality to change the circles to squares or triangles. When you click the plus sign (+) to add a new topic or subtopic it just defaults to a circle. But I've had conversations with the developers and they are quite responsive to feedback and they constantly thinking of ways to improve the app. So, I am sure they're working on it.

Looks very interesting! Will have to check it out! Question--can I change the format from circles to squares or triangles or other?

I see mind mapping as a free form method of expressing ideas and the interrelationships between them. I am an avid fan of this approach of modelling and have installed the package on my iPhone which appears to be working well. Congratulations to the developer!

What would be a great feature apart from inter-linking nodes between network branches is to be able to click on a node and add other criteria or tags. Then to see a summary in the format of a table or tree structure that collects nodes by tags!

Sean: Thanks for the positive feedback! As for greater functionality with desktop mindmapping software, MindMaker notes on their site (http://www.mindmakerapp.com/) that in an upcoming version (1.2) you will be able to upload mindmaps to a web application from which you can then download to different mindmapping formats. So stay tuned...- Chance

Great review...I am a fan of mind mapping and hope the more popular existing mindmap companies will make an iphone app that integrates with the desktop version. Not much use if I can't move iphone quick notes into production on a desktop. Although for quick note taking/mind mapping it DOES work better than a napkin!

Hello Roy:

Thanks for the feedback. As for hand-drawn mindmaps, I actually wrote a post on my blog about it. In the post I stated, "There is no doubt that there are times when a hand-drawn map is the most practical thing to do. For example, when you are at a meeting and you don’t have your computer. Or you want to create your own personal work of art with your mindmap to help you associate and recall things in a particular way." But overall, I think computer-based mindmaps give you more flexibility. Click<a href="http://mindmapblog.wordpress.com/2008/07/26/hand-drawn-mindmaps-vs-computer-based-mindmaps-pros-and-cons-to-each/" rel="nofollow"> Here</a> for my post on the subject. ---Chance
